The lighter weight DS-Trainer 14 has inspired its shape from the most popular version, the DS-Trainer 7. For the first time the DS-Trainer has been widened in the midfoot to enable a more aggressive, gender specific, space trusstic improving the stability in the midsole re-categorising it as a structured shoe. Whilst the midsole has been lowered by 1mm than the previous model, the outsole is 2mm thicker. Despite the broad change, the weight of the shoe has been reduced to a very minimal 10.2oz. The inside of the forefoot contains a Wet-Grip portion to improve traction on the road.
The lacing pattern has been adjusted from the Asymmetric Lacing Structure to follow a medial path towards the big toe. As well as the Biomorphic Fit the DS-Trainer has introduced a unique “gilled mesh” in the quarter-panels which pulls the air inside the upper during swing phase of gait.
The Asics’ Gel- DS Trainer 13 is ideal for the serious athlete concentrating on middle to long distances, it being ideal for 10k races.
