Besides Boston, I was considering either Chicago or NYC for 2010.  Well, I haven't got a guaranteed time to enter NYC yet.  Actually, I got the times, but I won't be 40 until next month so my previous times wouldn't count .

But today, I just got an awesome deal for lodging in Chicago - US$139 a night at the Fairmont right at downtown.  That is such a bargain price.  I haven't decided if I will indeed run Chicago but I grabbed a reservation immediately.  If I don't run it, I can just cancel my reservation.  No penalty.

Because of that, I am leaning towards doing Chicago over NYC next year.  Anyone else interested in running Chicago?

And most interesting of all, the date will be 10/10/10

Unfortunately, there is no more US$139/night hotel deal (that's a very nice hotel!).  All sold out.  People told each other about it on RW and everyone has reserved it.

If you want to find some cheaper lodging, it may still be available.  But of course, it is not a Fairmont.  I am trying to see if I can use my free miles to fly to Chicago.

If you want to find some ...

I am cheap (except going to Tokyo because nothing is cheap there).  Motel 6 in Metro Chicago area is only $44.99 per night.  I am signing up for the Los Angeles Triathlon (10/03) otherwise I will go.

I hear you but I think it is worth it.

Last year I paid $109 for the Econo Lodge in Boston and I am not going with a motel any more.  I couldn't sleep at all and kept hearing the conversations from the next rooms the whole night.  Incidentally, they were a bunch of runners from HK so I knew what they were saying .  I also became friends with a couple of them too, so it was interesting.

I ended up running the worst Marathon I've run so far (well, I've run 2 only )
