indeed, in my opinion, supplements are not bad things for runners
cos from training we stress our body much more than normal ppl, sweat much more to lose minerals and also we need more nutrients to aid healing our ever-repairing muscle tissues
of cos it's best if we can take enough nutrients from our food, but realistically it is impossible, how can you have meals with sufficient carbohydrates, proteins, iron, calcium, magnessium, vitamins B&D, such and such everyday?
actually, supplements like minerals (of course not hormone-based) are safe to take if not overdose, with minimal side-effect but handy to use.
I would say if you can take it under professional advises and in a sensible way, supplements are good to use
every coin has two sides, all depend your need and your choice
