起步: 洛杉磯市中心
賽道: Loop course
人數: 23,000 +

羅省全馬是北美五大全馬之一 (紐約市, 芝加哥, 波士頓, 檀香山).  今次是小弟第四次參加, 亦是小弟第十三個全馬. 自從舊年六月轉手後, 新owner 將賽事由三月移至五月, 亦同時將賽道由 point A to point B course 改變番做 loop course.  No more 環球片場 and 荷里活星光大道.

Pros:
Early start, no more 8am start.
Loop course, no more taking the subway to Universal Studios.
Lots of spectators on the streets, expecting over 1 million.
Largest marathon expo in the world.
No time limit, if it takes a runner 15 hours to finish it, there is always an official at the finish line waiting for him/her.

Cons:  
Since it moved from March to May, it is going to be hot, hot and hot.
Running on a holiday Monday (Memorial Day) instead of the traditional Sunday.
Competing with RnR San Diego Marathon which is being held on the 31st of May.  Many out of town  runners would rather run San Diego instead of LAM.

LA is really hot, full of sunshine. It's over 100 degree F at noon. Started at 7:20am is a smart decision, enjoy!

P.S. Are there any celebrities will join this marathon?

I am pretty sure there will be celebrities on the course.  But they usually keep it low profile so nobody recognizes them.

Not this year.  But both of them are on my "to do" list.  Have to save the $$ to go to Tokyo again next Feb.  NYC is expensive, the hotels there are ever more expensive than staying in Tokyo.

Latest news ~  Dean Karnazes will be running LAM this year after 100 miles (160 km) non stop warm up running from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles on the 24th.  May be I should stand next to him at the start line with the longrun.hk green shirt.

Ultramarathon Man ~ Dean Karnazes (50 marathons in 50 days in 50 States) will be running this year's LAM after his 100 miles (160km) non-stop training run from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles on Sunday.  He will finish his training run at the LAM expo at noon time and then give a seminar.  And I plan on being there to take pictures and attend his seminar.

I am glad that the wildfires outside of Los Angeles (Santa Barbara area) are finally contained.  No repeat of last year's inaugural Pasadena Marathon.  

Btw, next year's Pasadena Marathon is scheduled for Feb 21st. 2010.

I don't think so. There are so many cases out in California these days, both reported and non-reported.  I think we just have to pay more attention to everything.  I am not going to spend a whole lot of time this year at the expo.

I just received my final instruction.  There will be 25 entertainment centers and over 50 entertainment sites located throughout the course!

Hi Alex ~  Oh yeah, I had fun, always!  Otherwise I won't be doing my 13th marthon.  The course was brutal, there were lots of rolling hills.  The weather was on our side, cloudy and no sun.  Did you watch the webcast?  Quite exciting when the elite male runner passed the elite female runner.

I did LA Marathon in March. No worry, HK is much much hotter than LA, no problem!!!

Hi Solar ~

Sure !!! Go for it....experience it....I am sure you will like it.  I was planning to do it this year but just couldn't get any time off at all.  A few of my friends are doing it.  The atmosphere is completely different than any races you run and see in HK.  Like HY said above, the temp. in L.A. is perfect for running in October, I would say in the teens early in the morning.  The humidity is high but not as high as HK.  At night, you might need a light jacket though.  Awesome course too, start inside Griffith Park and finish in the heart of downtown L.A.

Competitor (organizer) manages their race events very well.  So anyway, sign up and go for it.  If you need more info or help, please let me know.  Although I live in Las Vegas, L.A. is always my 2nd home.

Oh, bring your camera, live entertainment every mile !!!!  Enjoy !!!

thx, I registered, will arrive LAX 23-Oct late in the morning, will stay @ LA downtown for one nite. I think everything will just fit the organiser's schedule....I will share photos here later.... million thx.

by the way, no wonder you have mentioned the registration fee for running is expensive...
