BTW, someone is thinking about having a meet that features the king of the sprint Bolt and king of the distance Bekele in a middle distance 800m race.

Bekele, who can run 100m in 11s says he would kick Bolt's ass in 800.  But I guess Bolt will kick Bekele's ass for a shorter race like a 600m.

Well, we are not asking Bekele to compete against Bolt in 100/200, nor Bolt to compete against Bekele in 5k/10k.  An 800m race would be fun.  Neither is among the best in 800.  But I will also give the edge to Bekele in an 800m race.

If so, I will vote for Bekele as WR for Men's 800m is ard 101s, that's mean average speed for 100m is 12.6s only.

Although many people, particularly those in Europe, would like to see such a race, I don't think Bolt would agree to run it.

IMHO, I would say Bekele would win, short distance runners are trained to exhaust their energy wihtin the race, seems those who trained for 100 or 200m would be in trouble after 300-400, middle distance runner's "longer" twitch muscle may be an advantage!
