First of all, how to taper for the race is a very individual thing.  The best way to taper for any individual runner can be very different.

Having said that, assuming one's mileage is adequate.  The recommendation is to run slowly for a little the day before the race.  Several strides may also be good.  Resting for a few days immediately before the race may make your legs stiff and you may not be at your best shape on race day.

If you would like take some time off, it is better to take a day off 2 or 3 days before the race.

    thanks for your info.
i agreed it is quite dependent for each individual, let see if 2 days rest is enough for me or not.

I joined HM this Sunday. The last run I made was on Wednesday (25/11) for 10KM. Take 3 days rest before the race.

My recommendation is to jog a little the day before the race.  Otherwise, legs will be stiff on race day, particularly if you take several days off.

You can run very slowly and it can be as short as a couple of k's
