Priniciple of weight control/reduction is very simple.
It's just the matter of energy balance.
If energy intake (i.e. eating) > energy output (i.e. all daily activities including exercise), your weight will increase.
I think changing of eating habit is very important for weight control/reduction as doing exercise regularly is hard and needs commitment.
You should understand that drinking a can of coke gives you around 300kcal and you need to do jogging for around 20 minutes to burn these 300kcal.
Moreover, don't overestimate the ability of burning energy from moderate exercise. For a 70kg person, jogging for 30 minutes only burns around 350kcal.
Don't you think that stop drinking soft drink is much much easier than doing exercise for 30 minutes?
So changing dietary habit is very important for weight control/reduction.
