The route is very demanding. The up and downhill parts of the first 5k are steep and long. The remaining part of the course is very bumpy. I saw 2 ching pk-ed during the race and I nearly sprained my ankle and knee. And many runners needed to have wound treatment at the first aid station after finishing the race.
For race arrangement, there was no banner to indicate the starting point and many people just wandered around and did not know where the starting point was. Besides, there was just a few staff along the route and if someone got serious injury during the bumpy part of the course, he/she was helpless. Moreover, there were just 2 water stations and it was not enough.
Compared with other local cross country race, the Mt Butler 15 K is not difficult indeed. However I agree that the race marshalls are really far from adequate.
Hope they can control the traffic or even halt the traffic at the entrance of the Parkview, HK just before the start of the race.
A taxi and a Mecerdes came down the road and runners waiting for at the starting area just get into a mess. We had successfully managed to annoy the taxi driver XD!!!
