標題: 天氣 vs 跑步
現在天氣太熱, 9:00am至8:00pm幾乎完全無可能正常跑步. 不知各ching ctse 現在選擇咩時段跑步? 我試過在場2:00-3:00pm跑, 只須15分鐘, 便完全collapse. 我現改為早上6:30am 開始跑, 情況則較理想, 尚可接受. 可惜濕度仍然太高, 跑完像游完水一樣.

星期六 16:35-17:30 係斧山道運動場跑, 跑5分鐘,小腿已經作抽筋,以為係無做熱身之過,咁就跑慢d (其實已經好慢),又無乜事,勁熱,跑左30分鐘, 口乾都暈,個人有小小ring, 走去水機加水,跟住每5分鐘加水一次,又捱到,天熱真係好易中暑

前日星期六下午三點鐘我出街跑,跑到大半我就放棄左,因為今日實在太熱,感覺到個身好似煲滾左水既水煲想爆想爆咁,為左安全都係停止左。尋日就係充滿泠氣既健身室跑跑步機,雖然舒服但有D悶,日後我打算係清晨四五點鐘跑,因為夏天係呢個時間氣溫較為清涼,相信由無太陽跑到出太陽感覺會好正,然後黎個花灑浴,再食早餐之後返工,精神!

呢個建議勁正!!!!一於搵日在清晨五點鐘出發, 由粉嶺跑去吐露港看日出, 然後再跑番屋企沖涼.

kopo兄, Vegas依家係超勁熱(今日最高係41C度),依家又係monsoon season,十分之muggy! 濕度都有成20 to 30%.  又要去跑LSD, 小弟都練緊耐力.  但點都唔夠鳳凰城(Phoenix)勁, 成50C度,  好似火焰山咁, 真攞命!!

If you can stand SD in this time of the year, you should be fine.  I was like running in hell when I did RnR SD.

我平時都會係7:00pm後去跑,星期六、日因為唔使返工會早小小。
本來琴晚放工都想去跑吓,點知d空氣差到連抖氣都幾乎抖唔到,唯有放棄。
其實跑步熱都唔係咁辛苦,但係好似而家咁既空氣質素,淨係叫妳係條街行都幾乎頂唔順。

RnR SD is an offical Team In Training event... people fly from all over the country... even canada.  Nike Women's Marathon is also an Team In Training National Event.  It benefits The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (血癌, 淋巴瘤病, 賀金氏淋巴癌... etc)

Yes and I am bringing my purple shirt to HK .  Need to take a picture with it to make people who have 血癌 smile

kopo兄, it depends on you personal goal. If you can do 20k already, you can always try more.  Are you planning to train for a marathon?  I don't remember the metric system anymore.  I use minutes per mile instead of min/km.  I would do 30 seconds to 60 seconds slower per mile than your 10K race pace.  Some books said 1 minute to 2 minutes per mile slower but I found that was two slow for me.

Here is a very useful calculator, just enter the time and it tells you what pace you should use.

Sounds like training in HK and in LA is different.  Your 10K time is 53 minutes.  Which is like 9 something minutes per mile.  For my team, we do short run (30-50 mins) at easy pace on weekdays (4 days), then we do the long run on sat, rest on sunday.  With the long run the coach doesn't want you to go fast... so the coach may make you do a 11 minute pace or something.  The point is to gain endurance slowerly.  If you go too fast and gain too much distance at the sametime... you increase your chance of injuries.  You can have... 骨裂

LV兄, I can run 15-20K every weekend.  Normally, I have my 10K run every alternative day (sometimes I have to skip especially when I was travelling).  I am planning to have my first marathon in the coming SCM in Feb 2009.  I am not sure if I am able to do so.  The website you suggested is very good.  Thank you!  It have to do around 1min slower for the LSD.  BTW, I have a problem on my feet after running over 20K.  After running more than 20K, I feel very painful on the middle part of the feet.  I supposed that my running shoes may not have enough cushion effect for me since I am a bit heavy of 176lbs.  What is your suggestion?

kopo兄, 係唔係脚板底中間? 小弟見議閣試吓買對foot arch support幫吓. 脚底如果唔夠support跑LSD好易傷脚底, 甚至骨裂都有可能架.

不是脚板底中間位置, 而是脚掌前部分, 而且脚掌兩邊亦有腫脹般的痛, 我以前買跑鞋時度過foot arch, 佢地都覺得ok! 我唔知是否鞋的cushion effect 不夠, 之前我的adidas跑鞋的air較厚, 我跑半馬沒有這問題, 或問題沒那麼嚴重!!現在的mizuno則較輕, 但底部好似較薄.

13 hours.  I hope I will survive running in HK this week!!!

But if I am dying in Hong Kong this week... I am still going to run the HK marathon in 2009 or 2010 .  Come early and see if I can do small training with c hings before the marathon

Hi Louis,

I have been telling everybody to get the Superfeet, either green or blue color.  I wonder if they carry it in HK.  BTW, how's those humid air.....yuck!

kopo兄, 跑完LSD對feet腫脹is normal but shouldn't hurt. If it continuous to hurt after long run, may be stop wearing the Elixir.  I found the shock absorption for the Mizuno isn't quiet as good as the NB and Asics.  If you don't mind spending more $$, try the Asics.

You get less dizzy too.  Also try to wear a cap (but it so hot I don't know if you want to wear a cap)

kopo hing,  my feet swollen up 1/2 a size after I finish a long run (>25km).  See, I normally wear size 10, but for LSD running and marathon I go up 1/2 a size to a 10.5.  I have trouble going up and down the staircase after long runs.  My groin areas are so sore.

Does it mean I should have a slightly bigger shoes for the LSD training?  Also, is it preferable to have a running shoes with better cushion effect?  By the way, I had a hiking last weekend for 42km in 10.5 hr.  Of course, I was exhausted but more seriously, the inner side of my thighs were scratched seriously with the edge of my running shorts. I really hurt and I found it bleeds a little bit and it  was really painful. I just wonder how can it be improved?  By wearing other types of shorts?

Normally, I will using bodyglide or vaseline to avoid the friction issue. I will apply vaseline on my feet, inner legs and nipple.

Yes, always buy 1/2 a size bigger that what you normally wear.  For me, my feet starts to swell at around 15km.  After long run, you can soak your feet in some ice cold water (with ice to decrease the swelling).  If painful, you can also take a couple of anti-inflamatory pills like Cortal.  The better the cushion effect, the better for your knees when doing long runs.  You don't have to buy other types of shorts to prevent the scratching.  The rubbing of you inner thighs is called chafing.  Like other c hings said, try the Bodyglide, just rub it on your inner thighs, the groin areas and one more place ~ the butt crack .  You will scream if you don't rub some in your butt crack when you take a shower later, it really burns!!  I also use another product called Sportshield.  I don't know if they sell it in HK.  I use it to rub on the side of my small and big toes and also the heels too.  If you know for sure there will be a blister develope, you can also try another product called moleskin (I've talked about that in the injury forum).  On top of all these, you also need two pieces of bandages to put on the nipples to prevent nipple rash.  Your nipples rub against your shirt when you run.  If longer distance and too much friction, you nipples will bleed (see picture below) especially when it is windy.  Some runners simply rub vaseline on the nipples.  I found it doesn't work that well when the sweats mixed with the vaseline and it also leaves a dark spot on your shirt and it is hard to wash it off.

Thank you very much for your valuable information.  Definitely I will buy the stuff to buy.  You are right that my butt crack and nipples also hurts but it is not as serious as the men shown in your picture.  By the way, can you suggest where I can buy this Bodyglide?? kopo hing, Not sure exactly where you can get it in HK.  I assume running stores.  May be other c hings like Alex hing and Blurmax hing can answer that.

You might find this in PROTREK or other outdoor sport stores.
