Tiny, don't be discouraged.  My 1st 10 K also consumed me 59 mins+.

I suggest another route - Sir Cecil's Ride to Mt Butler Rd and return.  Can walk up to Sir Cecil's Ride and walk down to Quarry Bay afterwards.
