Or you can invest a Garmin GPS watch.  It shows your pace constantly.  I think it is a good investment for runners especially for long distance runners.

I have been wearing my 305 whenever I go swimming in the lake or pool.  Been doing that for almost 2 years now.  So far so good.

In the user manual, it's clearly stated:

"The Forerunner is not intended to be used while swimming.  Swimming or prolonged water submersion can cause a short in the unit, which can in rare cases result in a minor skin burn or irritation in the area of the unit."
So, it's not a proper usage and shouldn't promote.

Thats fine! "Not Intended" doesn't mean you can't.  I am waiting for it to break down anyway so I can get the 405 for my Christmas present.

係唔係好多ching & ctse都有用Garmin GPS watch黎練跑架？..

I would say 95% of runners wear it here in North America.  Not cheap, the other 5% don't want to spend the $$.  I think it is even more expensive in HK.

Price of 405 in HK is around $2750 (w/HRM), similar to US$350 in REI.

Cheapest is $300 online without tax and free shipping, too expensive at REI and you have to pay sales tax or S&H fee.

$300US for a watch is not cheap

I know it is expensive, I am still waiting for the price to drop, hopefully by the end of the year.  I paid $225US for my 305 two years ago.
