Glad to hear that everyone had a great time in Tokyo. I just got home on Tuesday night and sad to hear and see all these horrible things happening in Japan. My heart goes out to everyone in Japan !! Now I have to get ready for the Los Angeles Marathon next weekend (20/3).
Thanks for sharing the story mephistopheles. I've just watched the Fighter by Mark Wahlberg. Mickey Ward said similar things too 'never give up'. I guess if there is no permanent damage for your body, it's ok to keep going until the finish line I will know by Monday if surgery is necessary or not.
It is very unfortunately for such disaster to happen near Tokyo, among with the Yue Nan and Christchurch earthquakes, we should really appreciate what we have around us. Make full use of our lives and seize each day
i knew a taiwan runner in tokyo who happened to have joined tokyo marathon this year as well
He told me he had been suffering from ITB for like two months, yet he still went for the race and finished it in around 5 hrs (though he had to take one painkilling pill every 5km during the race...)
Thanks for asking emilky! I better post this in a different section because I just did MRI and found 2 cysts, one on the ACL and the other on PCL… Will go see specialist next week, so no more running for now. Very sad but what can I do now
Hi, Tokyo Marathon is great! The organization was arrange 80 photographers to take photo for us. So that I can get around 40 photos. I wish Chartered Marathon can also provide it.

I have to say this is a VERY well organized race and they definitely think of all the details. Unfortunately I hurt myself and had to limp back to the finishing point (i'm in 10k). The knee pain was so bad that I actually had an MRI this morning. I am extremely eager to find out what is going on… The Osaka race looks very good, I wish I could go

I have to say this is a VERY well organized race and they definitely think of all the details. Unfortunately I hurt myself and had to limp back to the finishing point (i'm in 10k). The knee pain was so bad that I actually had an MRI this morning. I am extremely eager to find out what is going on…
