I am a casual runner for nearly 5 years in Sydney.I've been participated in City2surf and Blackmore half marathon and full marathon.
My ambition this year is to complete the SC marathon.

City2Surf starts from city Hyde Park -> Bondi Beach and it is about 14km. (http://city2surf.sunherald.com.au)

Dear RJH, I checked the FM in sydney, the route is very attractive,  it covers many place of interest.  is it always in September?  If I have holiday, I wish to join this year.

Yes... you are right! It is always organized on September. Weather... dry.. ~20-27 degree!
The route is not that bad... I personally prefer goldcoast marathon which seemed to be more attractive and a bit flat! http://www.goldcoastmarathon.com.au/

I prefer sydney's one coz I have accomodation there   I can visit my old friends after the match.

That's good idea!
Same as me... this time SC marathon. I will stay in my friends' home!
Comparing the registration fee... HK is much cheaper... Sydney costs about A$125!

it's crazy. almost HK$900-  compare with 20 years ago, all prices increase very much.  it's hard to go back and stay

how is your training now?  as the SCM route is changed this year, it's better to do more uphill training before the match.  I think City's area is too flat, where do you train yourself? is it in EPPING or nearby suburb? or the place in northshore?

I mainly trained on the Parramatta Park and treadmill!
Normally, I do 70-80 km per week.
Tempo and hill running on the treadmill becos it is easy to control the intensity. 3 hrs long run on Sunday.
How's your? I started to taper from this week... probably 50 km this week and 2 hrs long run.

I am not sure where is treadmill, may be it's near north paramatta or cherrybroke.  I will do my last lsd (~35K) this saturday, then I will start tappering after N.Y. holidays.
