~Most Anticipated Night Marathon Donates to HeartPatients~
PUTRAJAYA, 2 July– It’sback and better than ever! The BSN Putrajaya Night Marathon (BSN PNM) 2013 is onits way to become one of the most successful night runs in Malaysia when it isset to achieve its targeted participants of 12,000 marathon enthusiasts.
The marathon sparked new interestamongst Malaysian as initiatives to introduce a tagline contest and promote theevent through the marathon’s official Facebook page was initiated early thisyear.
Speakingat the launch ceremony at the Everly Hotel, Chairman of Bank Simpanan Nasional TanSri Abu Bakar Haji Abdullah said the organization is proud to be the mainsponsor of the event as it embodies all the business principles of BSN.
“The spirit shown by amarathon runner truly reflects the spirit and competitive passion of theorganisation,” said Tan Sri Abu Bakar.
The ceremony waslaunched by Deputy Finance Minister, Y.B Datuk Haji Ahmad Maslan, witnessed by theChairman of BSN, YBhg Tan Sri Abu Bakar Haji Abdullah, BSN’s Chief ExecutiveDatuk Adinan Maning, and YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Seri (Dr.) Aseh Haji Che Mat, PresidentOf Perbadanan Putrajaya.
According to Deputy Finance Minister, the uniquecollaboration for BSN PNM has redefined the level and depth of cooperationamongst financial institutions and sports organisations in promoting a healthylifestyle amongst Malaysians.
“I urge other financial institutions in Malaysia tomake an example of BSN’s support towards sponsoring sporting event and making ita part of the organisations’ annual corporate responsibility programme,” headded.
BSN PNM is also known for its 10KM Corporate CSRRun Category, which is a special category designed for corporate entities tosupport a fund raising initiative.
IJN foundation is on board as a beneficiary forthis year’s the fund rising.
By participating in the marathon, other corporateentities have an opportunity to save lives and help Malaysian heart patientswho are unable to afford vital medical aid.
The marathon had seen10,000 participants taking part in the event since its introduction in 2009which included over 400 international participants. This year PerbadananPutrajaya has allowed the organisers of BSN PNM to add more runners toparticipate in the event.
BSNhas been amajor sponsor for three consecutive years and a title sponsor since 2011.
