Forerunner 405

I use 305.  205 is the same as 305 except it does not have heart rate monitor.  405 is slightly smaller but battery life when using GPS is slightly shorter (8 hrs vs 10 hrs in 305).  Also, 405 can only display 3 data field while 305 can display up to 4 data field.  I don't care much about the bezel thing in 405.  

Since 305 is now "old" model, it is cheaper than 405.  For men, I think the size of 305 is ok.  For women, 405 is more suitable.

Please bear in mind that these watches are not intented to use for water sport hgjD103" />" />hj or during raining. I remember that a ching said his 1st watch was dead due to this reason .

Both the forerunner 305 and 405 are rated at IPX7 standard which allows the use in heavy rain.  According to the IPX7 standard, it can withstand 1m water for 30 mins.  While it is not advised for swimming, there are people who use it for swimming by putting in inside the cap.  See here
