2010 Disneyland 1/2 Marathon 5/9

I will be doing my 5th happiest race on earth next Sunday in California.

Hi ~

Thanks! This one is organized by Disney and part of the course is actually inside both Disneyland and the California Theme Park. The race gets sold out each year. You can check it out from their promotional video clip (the link above).

That's cool!!! Do you get the medal if you completed within the time?! I would rather go slow and enjoy this race should I have any chances to participate, haha....

Yes, finishers will get their medals at the finish line and the medal is big and heavy. Being this is their 5th anniversery, the medal is different this year than the previous years. I will post a pic. of it some other time. I always go slow and treat the race as a fun run. Many runners wear costumes too. As a matter of fact I run the race each year with a camera in my hand. If you go back to previous threads, I think I have posted some pictures from previous races before.

我數月前，都曾經問香港迪迪尼，會否好像美國這樣搞，但公關部的朋友回答：已有聯合國那個半馬，已是迪迪尼贊助的。暗示不會辦美國式的迪迪尼馬拉松了．．．

You should tell them that it is not the same if it is not running INSIDE Disneyland.

I told them and sent the website to them. But I think most HK institutions cannot realize the magic of marathon... That was pity...

HY, I agree with you 100%. Not only that, if they have a business mind they should think about it. Disneyland in California makes tons of money out of the race every year. $120 entry fee is the most expensive 1/2 marathon in the world and it still gets sold out each year. Why? Because people want to run INSIDE the park.

Disney has been planning to add a full marathon (Disney World in Florida has both a half and a full) to the Disneyland event. I hope it will happen in the very near future.
