如果未去過,應該可以玩多一兩日,聽講星加坡唔係好多地方好去,個時間應該唔係peak season,可以遲d睇下有冇Package....hgj091" />" />hj

End of May is PEAK SEASON in Singapore!!  In Singapore, school follows calendar year meaning that the school starts Jan-2.  By end of May, the mid-year school holiday starts.  Therefore, last year Sundown has a lot of school kids running the 10k team event.

Air ticket can be tight since Singaporean are flying out for vacation.  Also, it is school holiday time for Malaysia as well.  Singapore also start their annual Singapore Sales by end of May to attract Malaysian/Indonesian to come and shop.  Local attractions can be crowded (e.g. Sentosa, Wild Wild Wet, Snow City, Zoo, Bird Park).

跟據kin ching 既資料,42k 12小時,84k 15小時,tomtomthecat 有興趣?

The 84km cut off should be 14.5 hours.  Originally, it was 15 hours, but later, the starting time was pushed to 8:30pm but the ending cut-off is still 11am.  Therefore, only 14.5 hours.

84K真係好高難度喎" />" />

Yes, it is tough for a few reasons:
1. cut-off time of 14.5 hours is quite tight for slow runners.  Due to the hot weather, you need to add 10 to 20 minutes to your Hong Kong Marathon PB.  And 2 x your PB + 2 hours is a good estimation of your finish time of 84km.
2. It is all the way on hard surface - asphalt or concrete.  Very tough on the feet.
3. The second loop on Changi Coastal Road is very demoralizing.  It is a long, dark, endless, featureless road for 5km.
4. There are 4 bridges in each loop, they kill your rhythm.  And one of them is a stair case, kill your ITB.

I ran last year, finish the 1st loop in 6.5 hr (not a bad timing consider my Singapore Marathon timing is 6 hours).  I was on track to finish within the cutoff time until a blister came at 63km.  I took 5 minutes to take care of the blister (no medic to help), and when I want to re-start, left leg muscle hardened already.  Even after dragging for 2km, no improvement and no deep heat rub left in medic station (used up by the Marathon runners).  And at a speed of only 4 km/h and 18km left, I would miss the cut-off time by 1 hr+.  I decided to call it off.

So, I have signed up again for 2009.  Will need better preparation this round (e.g. carry my own deep heat rub, better taping to prevent blister).  For those intended to plan for it, please take note that the course is slightly longer than 42km each loop.  My Garmin register 43km+, even taken into account the normal 1% error, it is still too long, possibly 0.5 to 1km longer than 42km.
