Sounds like you are at the early stage of "runner's knee" before inflammation and pain kick in. Is the rubbing noise there too when you sit down to extend and flex your knee(s)? If you keep on running, the pain and swelling will kick in eventually and the cushioning cartilage around the knee cap will wear out. I advise you stop running for 5 to 7 days to see if it gets any better. If not, you have to visit your doctor for an evaluation. Hope this helps, good luck!
