其實食朱古力都會增加Endophine荷爾蒙分泌的. 所以如果唔間心, 食番幾粒都唔錯.

小弟應為第一次玩半馬或全馬, 目標應該係集中完成賽事, 而不是時間. Focus on distance not time and speed. 玩完第一次後, 有咗經驗才開始慢慢集中on時間and速度. 如第一次玩就要集中time/speed, 這實在對新入行嘅跑友有很大嘅壓力, 會好容易引至burnout的呀! 書店應有好多教人如何完成第一次半馬或全馬嘅書賣.

Sorry 叮叮噹師姐, 唔記得講tim.  出版社係Penguin Book, ISBN number係 0-14-046990-7. 此書教妳點樣由5K開始train到full marathon和其它長跑嘅info. 係一本good reference book, 好容易睇, 值得一買.

嘩! 比得公司sponsor得出國比賽仲叫自己係慢跑手, 師姐真識講笑! 小弟本來今年打算玩芝加哥. 但舊年主辦單位攪到一鑊泡, 因太熱關係又唔夠水供給比跑手, 大會中途cancelled賽事. 但很多跑手不知情照跑而引至一人死亡和302人集體中暑入院. 希望今年大會攪好D啦! 小弟打算2009年會sign up.  It is on my "must do" list呀!

Hello 忌廉師姐,

I am not "勁", just a slow marathon junkie and addict. You are right, Honolulu is always a blast (Top 10 marathons in the world).  I did it last year too with a miserable time due to injury and 落狗屎.  Out of the 25,000 marathon runners, 17,000 of them were from Japan.  It was almost like runing in Japan.  

As for running out of time training for Chicago.  Most training plans call for 18 weeks anyways and you still have 13 weeks left.  You mentioned your longest run was 22km (13 miles), not bad at all.  You need to increase your mileage every week from now on all the way to 20 miles (34km ~ sorry I am not into metric measurements) and of course one LSD every week.  I myself have never done LSD over 20 miles, the last 6.2 miles is always a challenge for me during the marathon.  If this is going to be your first marathon, I would suggest you concentrate on the endurance and distance instead of time, I think it is just way too many things to concentrate for beginner marathoner.  

BTW, why Chicago?  You should try Honolulu.  I like it and plan to do it every year.

It was their 35th anniversary last year, Tons of Japanese tourist/runners/walkers.  The whole Waikiki was infested with Japanese.  It rained crazily the first few miles, I hate running in the rain, I had no choice but to go inside a bus shelter until the rain died down a bit.  I have hotel and car rental booked already,  just waiting for the plane ticket gets cheaper may be after the summer holiday.

Dont' say that cream c tse.  6, 7 or even 8 hours not 羞家 at all.  I have quite a few over 6 hours ones with an injured foot.  My fastest one was my 1st one (4:18) many many moons ago <lol>. Try seeing it as an achievement, an accomplishment after all the time and hard training you put in.  I bet you will be very emotional when you pass the finish line.  You see, not many people in this world got to run a marathon like you and me.  For example in Canada, only less than 1% of the population has done a marathon.  So be proud of yourself regardless of time.

I can tell you more about Honolulu, let's not hijack this thread.  I will continue it in 外地賽事區.

I suggest go up about 3k each week for two weeks then back down again, like 25k, 28, 20.....etc.  From now on until race day, you only need three to four full 34k.  I don't recommend run pass 34k which is 20 miles.
