SF?  I ran once there in June, just like San Diego and HK, humidity is too high there, I couldn't breathe and too sticky. Yuck!!  I am used to running in continental and high desert climate.  Nothing is better than your shirt and shorts remain cool and dry after 20 miles of LSD.

There is no way that it is too humid here.  Humidity is so low that I have to spend a lot of $$$$ to buy lotion to keep my skin moist. Most of the time, my running apparel that I was still wearing 15 min after a race will be pretty much dry.  There is no need to take a shower immediately either because it is so dry.

But if you compare the humidity with Las Vegas.  May be it is a bit more humid, but not by much.  Compared with HK, the SF Bay Area is super dry.

So George, you are telling me SF is almost as dry as LV?  How could this be possible?  SF is next to the Pacific ocean and LV is deep in the Mohave desert, it can be as low as 2 to 5% in the summer and only 15% right at this moment.

Of course LV is dryer.  It is the desert.  But it is pretty dry in SF area.  So, if we assign 0 to LV for dryness and 10 to HK.  SF Bay Area is probably a 3, closer to LV than HK.

Compare to HK, both SF & LV are not considered as Humid at all.
Temperature is just one of the indicator.
That's why winter running in HK is much more cooler.

There is a big difference between San Francisco and its surrounding suburb cities.  San Francisco is pretty foggy, particularly in the Sunset area.  It can be slightly more humid.  But you drive 30 min to the south.  It is a totally different story.

For example, where I am living now.  Today's relatively humidity is 31%. It is 71% in HK, and 11% in LV.  So, that's why I say the suburb outside of San Francisco is the best.  There are tons of dirt trails (not much inside SF); weather is mostly mild and it is not humid.

And if you really just talk about SF the city, then it is not as good.

報告CU sir
