You have registered for the China Coast Marathon or Half Marathon. We have received quite a lot of questions from runners so I thought it might be good to do an FAQ to answer the more common ones.
Here we go.
Where do I catch the bus? Firstly, We have ordered sufficient buses to cater for the runners who indicated they wanted to come to the race by bus. If you didn't book you will have to find an alternative way of getting to the race. The exact locations of the pick up can be found on the AVOHK website. This is the link. http://www.avohk.org/index.php?_room=16. Please arrive at the pickup point early. The buses are under strict instructions to leave on time.
Where is the race? If you are coming by car or taxi the venue is Pak Tam Chung.
What do I do when I arrive at the race? Please go in to the Po Leung Kuk holiday camp to register and pick up your race pack. You should bring with you a copy of the email confirmation of your entry. To speed up registration, please make sure you know your race number. There will be lists of entrants at the registration area so you can check your details if you have forgotten. Also category lists so you can see who else is running. We will be checking some ID's so please bring some photo ID with you.
Once you have registered and are ready to warm up, leave your bag at the bag drop. There will be a race number tag in your race pack and blue bags to put your belongings in. We will have people looking after bags during the race but we are not responsible for any valuables, so don't leave them in the bag.
When does the race start? 8am punctually. Please do not go on the road at the start until the marshals and the Police ask you to. The road will be closed for 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after the start, but we need to keep traffic disruption to a minimum. Also, please do not step on the timing mats before the start. This causes delays and makes Dave very angry. During the race watch out for cars and taxis on the course, especially on the blind bends. We don't want any accidents. There will be four AMS stations on course in addition to the water stations. If you do have a medical problem, tell one of the marshals and they will relay the message to the medical staff.

What happens after the race? Your medal and a bottle of water await you at the end of the finish chute. Please make sure that the helpers mark your race number with a blue pen. You will need this to pick up your souvenirs which will be in the Po Leung Kuk car park area. No marked number bib, no souvenirs. There will also be some physios to deal with aching muscles and if you are in need of some retail therapy, AVOHK will be selling kit at bargain basement prices. Don't forget to try the Nature's Village products and GigaSports will be there doing a survey and giving out discount cards for their shops. We will post a schedule of the prize presentations and lucky draws in the registration area, but please bear with us because the results don't always cooperate with the timetable. Keep your race number handy for the lucky draws.
How do I get home? Buses will be leaving from the Pak Tam Chung bus terminus every half hour from 10.30 to 2.30 and will go to the Shatin KCR
