撞左墻就表示能量已所剩無幾,何來“起死回生”?
Before hitting the wall, your body mainly use the glycogen stored in the body. After hitting the wall, your body need to switch to use fat as energy. Everyone has enough fat in the body to give enough energy for a full marathon (actually enough for 3-4 full marathon distance). Some people has difficult time to switch and there is a gap before the switch is completed. Therefore experience lack of symptom like heavy leg, cannot lift up the leg etc. Once the switch is completed, you will have energy to continue to run though at a slower pace since fat is less efficient to generate energy. Some people switch seamlessly and never feel "hit the wall". The switching process can be trained. So far, for the few full marathon that I completed, I never hit the wall (because my thalassemia never allow me to run fast enough to exhaust my glycogen). So I cannot exactly tell you what a person feel when hitting the wall.
