I partly agree with your opinion...
espeically for the die hard A-Level preparation...
it is so different with HKCEE...
but as you said, there are so many "activities" for youngster to preoccupy himself/herself.
If they are not running, they might choose to do other stuff like computer game, soccer, DVD, internet, facebook......
who will choose studying as their prime preference?
so I think that's fine for Charson to concentrate himself on running...
1. at least it is a healthy sport...
2. at least it can train and improve the ability to focus himself.
Those advantage can bring positive impact to his studies.
As a HKAL failure, I would not blame for my destiny to any physical factor that interrupted me from studies. The main culprit of the failure is my soul who could not find my direction to live. So I guess Charson will be fine if he has his own direction. If he understand his value and his purpose to live, he will choose to do the right thing, including studying at the right time.
